Amanda Brugel

Brugel is the only Canadian actor in the Season 1 cast. Her appearance was limited to occasionally. Then, in Season 2, she became a regular cast member and continues to be a part of the cast today. As she discussed her role and its similarities to actual life, Brugel can relate to racism and the discrimination she's faced throughout her life. The actress said: "I lean heavily on race. As I said, I've encountered situations where I felt that I was treated like a slave just because I am black." My race has never led any physical injury through my entire life, but it's something that I've experienced. Every racial reference or insults that felt like a hit, or impact on me, I could use in the show when someone says something that is brutal and hard to swallow. It's a feeling I employ in almost every scene because I can feel as if she's been punched with a punch in virtually every single scene."
